．Sumilarv® 0.5G is a pest larvae control product developed and produced by Sumitomo Chemical, Japan. It will release active ingredients in the water slowly and for a long time.
．The active ingredient of Sumilarv® 0.5G, pyriproxyfen, is a type of insect growth regulator (IGR). Its structure is similar to the juvenile hormone (JH) unique to insects. It can interfere with the regulating mechanism of JH in the exposed larvae, thereby causing It causes abnormal development, failure to emerge, reduced fecundity, etc., which suppresses the population of pests and is environmentally friendly at the same time.
．It is highly safe for mammals and fish, environmentally friendly, and is an indispensable part of integrated pest management (IPM) strategy.
．Sumilarv® 0.5G also can control the larvae of moth flies.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and its affiliated Pesticide Evaluation Program (WHOPES) have reviewed the scientific information submitted by Sumitomo Chemical and recommended Sumilarv® 0.5G for the control of larvae in drinking water sources.
What makes Sumilarv® 0.5G unique?
．Unlike similar or me-too products that dissolve in water all at once, Sumilarv® 0.5G is a special formulation with slow-release properties. The active ingredient will be released slowly, and the effect can last up to 2 to 3 months.
．Effective in very low doses (see illustration below).
．It does not contain toxic insecticidal ingredients such as pyrethroid or organophosphates. It is a growth regulator that simulates insect hormones and disrupts development. Pests do not develop resistance to pesticides.
．Very low toxicity to mammals (oral toxicity LD50 > 5,000 mg/kg).
．It is ready-to-use after unpacking and does not have any chemical odor.
．If vector mosquitoes stay on the water body where Sumilarv® 0.5G is applied, they will be attached to the active ingredients. When these mosquitoes fly to other water bodies that have not been sprayed with pesticides, its active ingredients will be spread into it, helping to prevent and control some hidden and difficult-to-detect potential breeding sources.
．At a concentration of 20 grams per ton of water (0.1ppm), Sumilarv® 0.5G can still be effective even if the application area dries out for 50 days and becomes waterlogged again.
